Pink Laptop Computer – Does It Connote A Fashion Statement?
“Pink” is a girl’s color. Pink is said to be a symbol of femininity; pink is also the color of love. And a pink laptop computer is the undisputable favorite of the set of trendy girls, teens and young professionals. A couple of years back, laptop manufacturers introduced to the computing world an appealing kind of device – the colored laptops. They came in different colors – red, pink, blue, green, purple and more. But for most of the population belonging to the feminine gender, the preference is the pink laptop computer.
Yes the pink laptop is cute, sweet and fabulous. Its color makes the user alive despite the long hours of computing that have already elapsed. But in the choice of laptop, is it only the color of the computer housing that matters? Remember – even with a black computer, you can turn it pink with just a few dollars expense on a laptop skin. Maybe, the color is a preference but not the sole basis for the purchase. More than ever, the following features are still considered – processor, memory, storage, dimension, weight, screen size and resolution, battery life and price.
Pink laptop computers are manufactured by big computer industries, Asus came up with its Asus Eee PC 1005HA and Asus Eee 1008HA in pink color. Toshiba has NB205 pink laptop computer, Samsung came up with the NC10 version and Sony produced the VAIO W model.
An analysis of the specifications of five pink laptop computers (Asus PC Eee1005HA, Asus 1008HA, Toshiba NB 205, Samsung NC10 and Sony VAIO W) disclosed the following features of these laptop models.
Processor – Four models of the pink laptop computers are equipped with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280; Samsung NC10 coming close with a 1.6GHz Intel atom N270. Samsung is slightly less powerful but for a user whose purpose is merely to surf and chat, the difference does not really matter. Ask who wins this race – it is a draw!
Storage - All of the five pink laptops have the same storage capacity – a 160GB hard drive. However, two of the models come with extras. Asus PC 1005HA provides an extra 10GB free on-line storage. On the other hand, the Toshiba NB205 offers extra data protection with the built in impact sensor. For this feature, both the Asus Eee1005HA and the Toshiba NB205 have advantages.
Memory - It is again equality for all five models as each of them is equipped with a 1GB memory.
Screen resolution – 1024 x 600 is the resolution of four. Sony A+VAIO W has a higher resolution of 1366 x 768.
Screen Size – Except for Samsung NC 10 which has a screen size of 10.2 inches, all the other four have a 10.1 inch screen. The size difference though is negligible.
Dimension and weight – The Asus Eee PC 1008HA is the smallest with only an inch thickness with a length and width of 10.3” and 7”, respectively. It is also the lightest at 2.4 pounds.
Battery life – Asus EeePC 1005HA has the longest battery life of 10 hours, while Sony VAIO W has shortest.
Price – Except for the Sony VAIO W which has the highest price, the cost of the four only has minimal differences. Average price of the four ranges from $370 to $400 while that of the Sony is close to $500.
Pink laptop computer is a fad among the female youngsters now. But buying this type of laptop is not solely dependent on its color. Specification of the device is still the prime consideration.
